Ingredients

  • doves
  • salt
  • pepper
  • butter or margarine
  • bacon strips
Directions

Wash birds carefully, and be sure to remove all shot from the meat. Salt and pepper birds and rub with butter or margarine. Wrap birds in strips of bacon and secure bacon with toothpicks. Place birds on rack in the Old Smokey Electric Smoker and cook for 30 minutes on High, then turn down heat to Medium. Depending on the number of birds you are cooking, they should be done in about 20 minutes per pound. Test for tenderness by pricking with a fork.
