To the inventors of "Old Smokey" barbecue pits. I would like to start by saying "THANK GOD FOR TEXAS BAR-B-QUE." Say listen! Last year or the year before, my brother in law gave me a small "Old Smokey" barbecue pit because he had 2 of them. Now, my brother in law is from Kansas City but lives in Texas, I call him 'Scrap Iron' and he calls me 'Bulldog.' Well, I'm from Texas, born and raised, thank God, and Scrap Iron and I love to compete against each other when it comes down to bar-b-quing, especially ribs. Now, Scrap Iron uses 5 bar-b-que pits and I use 1, the "Old Smokey." We both love cooking and are both handicap.. Scrap Iron lost his left arm while working for the railroad and I disabled my back working for an oil field outfit. Scrap is 49 and I am 39.
Now the reason I am writing this letter to you all is because "Old Smokey" needs to grow upward, it's too low to the ground and I can not bend over any more to bar-b-que. So please make some longer legs or slip on's to raise Old Smokey up so that I can win again this Thanksgiving Day. Happy Holidays,
Thanks, Bulldog.
Hey Bulldog!! (I love to say that, any idea why?) we already thought of this!! We make Old Smokey Long Legs and you can find them here. Enjoy your new taller Old Smokey.
